Quantum Entropy Module Submitted for NIST Validation Review

The old certainties fade, as certainties must, and now a device that conjures true chance from the quantum deep waits at the gate of official trust. Submission is but a gentle petition; validation, should it come, arrives as slowly as all good judgments do.
MONTREAL, 30 AUGUST —
Quantum eMotion Corp., a Montreal company devoted to quantum-secure cybersecurity, has announced that its eCore-Q PCIe Quantum Entropy Module has been submitted for review under the United States Cryptographic Module Validation Program. The submission follows an independent assessment by Lightship Security Inc., an accredited testing laboratory, which completed its evaluation and forwarded the supporting package through the production Entropy Source Validation Test System. The company seeks a standalone Entropy Validation Certificate for the specified implementation, version and operating environment, which would attest conformance with NIST Special Publication 800-90B. Submission begins the review process; it does not constitute validation, and neither the outcome nor the timing of the review is assured. Should the certificate be issued, it would support future FIPS 140-3 cryptographic-module submissions that incorporate the validated entropy source. Francis Bellido, chief executive, called the submission an important technical milestone and said it advanced the company's efforts to provide independently validated quantum entropy for regulated and security-sensitive applications.
